A review of the 26-slide deck for JioHotstar and BCCI, with fixes, additions for Indian audiences, and what BCCI's rule on controversy means for each episode.
The premise works and the team is credible. BCCI has said it won't allow anything controversial unless it ends well, and that changes several episodes. Fix four things before you send it.
Every setback on screen has to end in a comeback. Use the same beat order in every episode, so the setback always comes before the breakthrough and no episode ends on a low.
The drama then comes from the sport itself, such as auctions, long waits, near misses and comebacks. That suits both rooms. BCCI gets a celebration, and JioHotstar still gets stakes.
BCCI will allow a controversy only if it ends well. Here is how each sensitive story in the deck, or in this review's earlier suggestions, holds up.
The plan has research in November, every interview in December, the edit in January and February, and delivery in March. That leaves no time for contracts or BCCI approvals. The IPL 2027 auction is on 16 December in Goa, and clearing 20 years of archive usually takes months.
A two-phase plan is safer. Deliver a 60 to 90 minute special or the first episodes before the season, then finish the series with 2027 footage after the final. Film the auction either way.
